Good afternoon residents. We wanted to remind you that there is a Winter Storm Warning in effect in area for tomorrow morning between the hours of 4 to 8 a.m. until 7 a.m. on Saturday, 1/11/2025. The forecast is calling for the possibility of snow, sleet and/or freezing rain. There is a strong possibility there will be ice accumulation and upwards of 1 to 2 inches of snow accumulation.

Please use extreme caution when making your way around the property. Below are some other tips to help you during the cold and snow:

• Consider wearing appropriate footwear for the weather conditions. Footwear that contains heavy treading and a flat bottom that place the entire foot on the surface of the ground are preferable for these conditions.
• Please pay attention to your surroundings as sidewalks and parking lots may be covered in ice. Try to avoid distractions while walking in icy or snowy conditions. Anticipate slippery conditions as what appears to be wet pavement may be icy conditions and assume there is ice under snowfall on pavement.
• When traversing stairs, please make sure to take them carefully with a firm grip on the handrails.
• Walk in designated walkways as much as possible. Be careful when walking under awnings, trees and gutters, as snow and ice may fall unexpectedly.

We also ask that you take precautions when around areas treated by ice melt and rock salt. The main ingredient in most ice melt products can be irritating to a dog’s paws and can be harmful if ingested. Rock salt can also cause irritation to dogs as well. To help protect your pets, it is recommended that their paws should be cleaned after walking outside on snowy or icy days.

To keep the winter chill away inside, we also make these recommendations:

• Keep thermostats set to at least 65 degrees to keep pipes from freezing.
• If the temperature drops below 20 degrees, keep a faucet on at a trickle.
• Keep a cabinet under the kitchen sink open so warm air can circulate.
• Use a door sweep if you feel like your entry door is drafty.
